New Erin - VSF Imagi-Nation

Howdy all,

Recent rumbling over at Maximum Rock & Role Playing have been anouncing the formation of a new imagi-nation for the VSF world. I speak of New Erin, the result of the Fenian invasion of New Brunswick. Chad has just stated this project but it should be fun to see where he takes it. Check it out!

While you are there, you might want to also check in on the exploits of Teddy Roosevelt and his Roughriders on Mars.

Take care,

-Eli

  1. Oh, now you've gone and done it - I was just watching the thread about the Fenians in Canada over on TMP;

-thinking I couldn't afford to take on a new project, and now yo introduce the VSF angle -pure evil, I tell you! :-).

  2. Can't claim the idea as mine. It was Chad's idea.

  3. I started the thread on TMP too, I haven't checked it in a while. What have I started? :)

Thanks for the shout out, Eli!

  6. I've included some Fenians within my 1/300th scale Aeronef/Space 1889 background just because I love the idea of a separatist Irish faction in VSF gaming.

The flag in your illustration is something that I can see appearing in my Fenian squad.

    Thanks for the inspiration.

  7. There are a few Republic of Irelands out there for VSF, but the New Erin angle sounds fun. I guess it might find a way into the Balkanized North America VSF setting I'm using. Can't say the thought ahsn't occurred before, but good to see someone developing the idea. THough I think the OFM on TMP has something in this way too?

  8. It is a great idea but I must admit a bit of a guilty feeling considering this post is just a nod to the idea that Chad over at Maximum Rock and Role-Playing had. I only posted it here because it's a great idea and I wanted to share his idea.

Heck, even the image is right off his post.

Chad, if you read this, sorry to have stollen your thunder, buddy. It wasn't my intention.

  9. With those diverse 19th C. Imagi-Nations blossoming on the Web, what about a 'collective' blog along the lines of Emperor vs Elector, the "diplomatic" / "'Fleshnews from our country' board" blog of the League of Lace Wars Imagi-Nations?

  10. Good looking Fenians on Rot and Drivel -but you already know them, I'm sure.

Were the (totally fanciful) uniforms given to 'the Irish Brigade at Fontenoy' in a late 19th C. illustration based on the 'historical' 19th C. ones? I would not be the one and only 'freak' enjoying to 'translate' uniforms from other periods to Lace Wars ones?

  11. I've seen those Fenians. I am using ACW figs for mine.
