More Giger-esque Terrain

So, I finally finished the second piece of terrain made from real pumpkin stalks. This time around i wanted to do a bit of a larger bit that actually created a terrain feature with function - a bug lair.

The pumpkin stalks were glued into a dunes-shaped cut of styro over which I painted and textures, painted some more and then inked. The bug holes were worked into the piece using green stuff that I shaped in a very basic manner to try to make it look like it was of organic construction. There are three portal holes for bugs to pass through flanked by some venting that would allow atmosphere to lower levels.

  1. They look cool. I can imagine the bugs all curled up in the nooks and crannies.

    Brilliant idea and realization.
And they could also be found in some Lost Valley in deep Alcovia....

  3. Great stuff, Eli. Could be some organic-icons from the Eester Asteriod.
