It's funny how much a little thing like *gulp* organization can help out with your hobby. As mentioned in previous posts, I have had some major reorganization in my home and part of that was a chance to reorganize how I stored my gaming materials. I could still use more and it needs some refinement but it's made a huge difference in my ability to produce. There is something to be said for knowing where stuff is when you need it. This primary step out of the way, I have now moved onto another organizational step I have been meaning to do (or more accurately re-do) for some time - my project white board.
Posted above my supply organizers, I now have a smallish white board. As it is our bedroom, and not wanting it to dominate the space any more than it had to, so Jenn kept it small, but adequate. On this board I have two simple columns - SUPPLIES & TO-DO. These simple categories allow me to jot down when I find myself lacking a particular bit or piece or when I think of something I need for a project. The To-do column is not a comprehensive list but a list of the more pressing projects in my hobby.
Currently the lists are short but this should allow me to keep on top of things and avoid those times when I manage to go out and right past the hobby shop, DYI store, etc only to get home and go "Doh!". Also, for those of you waiting for parcels from me, I have posted your items in the "To-Do" column so that I can keep them fresh on my mind.
Take care all,
-Eli
How do I get on the "expecting parcels from Eli" list?
ReplyDelete;)
It just sort of happens :)
ReplyDeleteMr. Womack has picked up a few things for me and Rob has a few things to trade me. I think they are making out like bandits, but it's the thought that counts.
It's all part of that "Game it forward" attitude.
