So, as promised, the family and I went to pick out our new dog today. The girls worked all this last year proving that they were responsible enough for a dog and for the most part they did really well - as well as can be expected from a 6 and 10 year old. The dog we picked was a mellow, 6 year old, mixed breed, medium-sized rescue dog. She's a lovely pet who came already leash trained and with manners to boot. She is just lively enough to be fun without being crazy.
Welcome Serene to the Arndt family!
Thanks,
-Eli
"Serene" Cool name! Congrats on the new family member!
ReplyDeleteAnother good pet name. She looks kinda like our beagle mutt. His name is Sonny. He is also a shelter rescue, and a pretty calm dog until you try to get him riled up. Then he likes to play. He will chase a laser sight dot for as long as you are willing to run it around the house. Looks like a winner, Eli!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the dog.. She will bring joy fun and happiness to the house. Our dog Toby is a yellow lab and he is only about 2 years old if that so he is a puppy still. He's very energetic but man can he catch a Frisbee.
ReplyDeleteGood lookin' dog, welcome aboard Serene!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the well wishes, guys. I'm as excited about this dog as the kids are. This will be the first dog I've owned since I moved out on my own.
ReplyDeleteWe seem to have lucked out. She's fully trained - sit, stay, come, leash, house-broken, etc. She also seems to have a good amount of restraint. The benefits of adopting an older dog, I suppose.
Quote Heather: "She's lovely!"
ReplyDeleteCheers
