Today's post is a shout out to all the good folks in gamer land to send supporting good vibes, prayers, whatever you got in your hearts to s a good friend and member of my local gaming circles, Chuck.
You may recall that I posted about Chuck's amazing hand made books a while back. Well, in recent months he learned that he had a cancer of one of his kidneys. The good news is that it was detected early enough that they can do something about it and the prognosis is damned good for a full recovery and a cancer free life. Still, it means a surgery to make sure. Chuck even wrote a blog about some of his experiences with his journey through cancer - Walking to Mordor.
Our good buddy is going in for his procedure on Monday and I know my thoughts will be with him. His doctors sound top notch and up-front and I've got nothing but positive feelings about this. They had best not do anything to damage Chuck's indomitable spirit and mirthful nature though or I will definitely be coming after them with a +45 Doctor Slayer.
I hope he won't mind me posting about this but I thought his own experience might be of some help to others going through a similar process.
Thanks all and all the best to Chuck!

ReplyDeleteThank you all for your kind words and thoughts. Chuck's surgery has been delayed for almost two weeks because somebody forgot he needed to get cleared by a cardiologist before his surgery. Grrrrr...
ReplyDeleteLooks like the trip to Mordor is a little longer for Mr Chuck.
