When I set out to create the various races of the Hollow Earth, I decided that I was going to try and do as much of it as I could using readily available (and inexpensive) historical minis instead of going out and chasing down specialty figures. This was not done purely for budget reasons, but because I like the challenge of conversions, even if they are pretty much alternate paint jobs. I have included a scan of a note sheet I did for the first three races - Goraks, Raft People, and Atlanteans.

I especially like the look of the Goraks.
ReplyDeleteThe Raft People should be fun, because they require actual conversion work adding the "river monster" skin and horns.
ReplyDeleteI second the gorak
ReplyDeleteCool. I had almost the same idea. I thought of using the Tekumel figs from Eureka.

I would definitely use the Tekumel figs if they were available in 15mm.
ReplyDeleteAhhh. 15mm. Dang, those will be tough to scratch build. Or, easier I suppose. Looking forward to seeing them.

Not so hard. The Goraks and the Atlanteans are simple repaints of historicals. The Raft People will need a little putty work.
ReplyDeleteI posted pics fo the Goraks in an earlier post. And they are shown in the post showing the hut terrain.
