Check this stuff out. What looks like the ruins of a lost city is actually some cardboard packaging straight out of the crate. I am hoping to turn them into some quickie ruins for my 15mm stuff. A friend of mine is bringing them by in a day or so I'll be able to give a better review and assessment of their usefulness then.
Can't wait,

I have some similar packaging that is being turned into Martian apartment buildings (like Roman insulae) right now.
ReplyDeleteGood stuff!
Nice, can't wait to see that. Mine looked sort of beat up and so ruins was my first thought. In a way, they remind me of the buildings they used in the matte painting for Land of the Lost. You know the ruins where the Sleestaks lived?

Looks great Eli! My first impression was high rise shanties.

That is just the raw product, Mark. I'm almost afraid to touch it for fear of trashing the cool "natural" details.
ReplyDeleteI never thought about high-risde tenaments. I've seen pictures of the tenament cities in Brazil and other countries and it is a good fit.

Looking foward to seeing what you make of them ! The look full of great possibilites !

Very cool!! I would paint it with some PVA mixed with fine sand. That would give great texture. Then once you put the color to it, flock the walls. You might also want to take some twine soaked with PVA to make vines and creepers.

I think I have figured out the angle I am going to use. I am not sure if it's what everyone expects and I want to see how it comes out on one of the smaller pieces before commiting to the whole thing.
ReplyDeleteI'll give a bit of a hint. My plan will make it suitable for VSF as well as other genres.
